The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1981 "for his discoveries concerning the functional specialization of the cerebral hemispheres."
In 1981 Roger Wolcott Sperry won the Nobel Prize for discoveries he made in the 1950's and 60's. Other Recipients that year were David H. Hubel and Torsten N.Wiesel "for their discoveries concerning information processing in the visual system".
